Comparison

Copy.ai vs Jasper for small businesses

Disclosure: Some links may be affiliate links; we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. How this works.

Both Copy.ai and Jasper are AI writing platforms, and both are often mentioned for marketing copy. They are positioned quite differently. This page compares them using only what each company publishes on its own site, checked on 2 November 2026. We have not run hands-on tests, so you will find no scores or rankings here.

If you are a freelancer or run a small team, the practical questions are usually these: what does the cheapest useful plan cost, how many people can share it, can it learn your tone and is there anything extra you would pay for?

Who each is a good fit for

Jasper Pro is a good fit if

you are a solo freelancer or a very small business that mainly creates marketing content such as posts, emails and web copy, want a stored tone of voice and would like to try it free for seven days before paying. Keep in mind that the price is per seat and that extra users move you to the Business plan, which has custom pricing.

Copy.ai Chat is a good fit if

a small team of up to five wants shared access to several AI models at a low monthly price and does not need automated workflows. The jump from Chat ($29 per month) to the first plan with workflow credits (Growth, $1,000 per month billed yearly) is large, so check that you really need workflows before you plan around them.

Neither may be right if

you only write the occasional email. A general-purpose chat assistant can handle that, and our guide on writing client emails faster with AI works with any of them.

How to decide in practice

  1. Write down the three tasks you want to speed up.
  2. Check on each pricing page whether the plan you need includes them. Do not rely on a feature list from a review site; plans change.
  3. Use Jasper's free trial or a month of Copy.ai Chat with one real task and judge the output yourself.
  4. Cancel anything you are not using after a month.

Both can be opened here: Jasper and Copy.ai (affiliate links, see the note above).
